In recognition of November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month, the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center unveiled the Jack D. Weiler Hospital’s newly renovated waiting room and mural in the Intensive Care Unit.

The unveiling was followed by an informational community event highlighting the importance of lung cancer screenings. Despite lung cancer being more deadly than breast, colon, and prostate cancers combined, only 6% of high-risk New Yorkers undergo screening, a statistic Montefiore hopes to change through awareness and education. Afterall, lung cancer screenings can prove to be life-saving.
