Crossroads Connection, Inc. will hold its Act4Change Image Theatre presentation “Por La Esperanza/For the Hope,” on Oct. 21, a community engagement workshop exploring how community members feel about the COVID vaccine.

The presentation will take place in the Bronx at the Bronx Music Heritage Center , located at 1303 Louis Nine Blvd., from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

“Por La Esperanza/For the Hope” aims to give community members a safe space to discuss and creatively express their concerns or support for the COVID vaccines. The goal is to dispel existing myths and misinformation concerning the vaccines and support the health and wellbeing of NYC communities.

The Bronx college and high school students express and perform their perspective of this ongoing public health issue in America. They portray how COVID continues to touch the emotional and mental wellbeing of youth throughout NYC boroughs.

Forum Theater is a theater of the oppressed technique from Brazil that encourages audience members to problem solve the social conditions of their lives. At the end of this play, the audience, performers and youth will consider ways to foster safe and humane immigration policies.

Crossroads’ Act4Change Violence Prevention project allows youth and community residents to dialogue in a non-threatening, creative and safe environment through the use of theater and community health/well being.
