New York City has launched a housing lottery for four units in a 5-story residential building at 686 Eagle Ave. in the Woodstock neighborhood of the Bronx.
The building has 13 units, with nine at market rate. All four of the affordable units are for people earning 130% of the area median income and with an asset limit of $201,890.
Two of the units set aside are one-bedroom, with a monthly rent of $2,515. Households of up to three people are allowed to reside in each unit, as long as they combine for an annual income of $86,229-$181,740.
The other two units are two-bedroom and cost $2,790 a month in rent. As many as five people can reside in these units. The required annual household income for each unit must be $95,658-$218,010.
Amenities within each unit include air-conditioning, smart controls for heating and cooling, cable or satellite TV, intercommunication devices, energy-efficient appliances and online options for leasing, paying rent and making maintenance requests. Tenants will be responsible for electricity, including stove, heat and hot water.

Additional features include garage parking, bike storage lockers, a recreation room, an outdoor terrace, a shared laundry room, security cameras, a recycling center, an elevator and an accessible entrance. The building is smoke-free and allows for pets of up to 30 pounds. Fees apply for garage parking.

The building is located near multiple schools, including Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School, University Heights Secondary School, LEAD 359: Leaders of Excellence, Advocacy and Discovery, Brilla Veritas Elementary and P.S. 157 Grove Hill. The Jackson Avenue subway station, which services the 2 and 5 trains, as well as bus stops for the Bx4 line, are also within walking distance from 686 Eagle Ave.
This building was designed by HCN Architects. Louis Calos, under the 686 Eagle Avenue LLC., developed the building.
Applicants must meet the housing and income requirements. The deadline to apply is April 28. New York City residents will receive a general preference for the units.
