FreshDirect gets award for environmental efforts

FreshDirect, a grocery delivery service located in Port Morris, has been named the winner of the 2015 Northeast Deisel Collaborative (NEDC) Breathe Easy Leadership Award. The award was given to the company for its efforts to significantly reduce its diesel emissions and promote clean transportation. Over the past two years, FreshDirect made significant investments in new technologies to reduce its carbon footprint including purchasing all-electric, hybrid-electric, and clean diesel vehicles.
