For the 14th year in a row, El Grupo Unidos de Belmont, Inc. hosted its exciting Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Saturday, May 4 at Crescent Avenue. Sponsored by C-Town, Krasdale Foods and Northeast Community Bank, this year’s edition featured Spanish music from DJ Gel Mix, a live performance from Banda 3 Ranchos and folkloric dancers from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Cinco de Mayo is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s decisive victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puelba on May 5, 1862 under general Ignacio Zaragoza’s leadership.
