Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. honored local Muslim leaders at his annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner ceremony on Tuesday, June 13 at the Bronx County Building’s Veterans’ Memorial Hall.
This year’s award recipients included the non-profit Muslims Giving Back; Mohammed Mardah, African Advisory Council Civic Engagement Committee chairman, Muslims and Immigrants Coalition for Justice executive secretary and Community Board 4 member; Summer Nasser, writer and Yemen Aid chairwoman and Tair Azirov, NYC Department of Education director of Human Resources for District 79.
Award recipient Summer Nasser graciously accepted her award from the borough president.
