CERT Receives Disaster Simulation Exercise

Bronx CERT volunteers practiced basic fire safety response, search and rescue and triage skills during a disaster simulation exercise.

The NYC Emergency Management Department hosted a disaster simulation exercise for Community Emergency Response Team volunteers on Thursday, February 2 at the Rafael Hernandez Dual Language Magnet School in Mott Haven. Instructors from Emergency Management, FDNY and NYPD tested and reviewed the volunteers’ emergency preparedness and response skills in fire suppression, search and rescue, medical operations and traffic management.
