2023 Bronx Book Festival: 8 a.m. at Fordham Plaza

If you enjoy reading, then attending the Bronx Book Festival is the place for you. The event is free, but you must RSVP to enter the location. The event will feature speakers discussing various books and celebrating all things, reading and literature related. The line-up of speakers includes Jo Piazza and Christine Pride. Come listen to best-selling and award-winning authors like Terry J. Benton-Walker, Charlie Jane Anders, Luz Mack, M. García Peña, Vincent Tirado, Mark Oshiro, Johnny Compton, Cassandra Khaw, Alyssa Reynoso-Morris, Rocky Callen, Sidik Fofana, Julie C. Dao, Anne Heltzel, Ness Brown, Leopoldo Gout, Tamika Burgess, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, Lorraine Avila and more!

¡Que Bonita Bandera! Pre-Parade Party: 4 p.m.-10 p.m. at Rosa’s at Park Rooftop

Join The Salsa Project as they party to celebrate and honor Puerto Rican and Nuyorican pride through food, music, live performances and salsa dancing. The venue is perfect for those who are of Puerto Rican descent and those who are not, the event will leave attendees enriched in the culture. The tickets for the event will be $25-$35 and attendees must be 21 or older to enjoy the festivities.

Family Life Academy Charter Schools II (K-5) In Person Open House: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at 296 E. 140th St.

The Family Life Academy Charter Schools have a mission to empower a diverse community of individuals and do so by hosting open house events to educate those in their community. The event will be engaging, meaningful and insightful and will serve to build healthy community relationships and learn how to be global citizens. The event will also feature art, music and physical education enrichment.

End of Year Family Picnic/Picnic familiar de fin de año: 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Park

If you’re looking for a relaxing way to spend your Sunday with your family then attending the End of Year Family Picnic is the place to be. The event is being held for students and families to mark the end of the academic year, allowing families to distress and enjoy a nice picnic with their community. The picnic will be held at St Mary’s Park and games and refreshments will be provided.

The Duprees In Concert with Twin Gold, The Bel Aires & Joey & The Paradons at 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Morris Park Performing Arts Center at Jacobi Hospital

The Duprees make their Bronx debut at the Morris Park Performing Arts Center alongside Twin Gold, The Bel Aires and Joey and the Paradons. The event is being hosted by Denis Nardone who is a notable WVOX radio show host. The venue will have plenty of seating and parking, you must pick your seat online at www.goldenoldiesshows.com.
