A Bronx man is due in court Tuesday for a double homicide he allegedly committed last month.

Derrick Williams, 55, was charged for his alleged role in the killings of Bronx residents Gina Cooks and Roberto Jimenez last month. He is being tried in Bronx County Criminal Court.

According to the NYPD, police from the 52nd Precinct responded to a 911 assault call in a Norwood apartment at 10:19 p.m. on Aug. 25. When cops arrived to the scene they saw Cooks, 29, with a stab wound in her chest and another 33-year-old woman with a slash wound in her hand. Both women were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. There the 33-year-old — whose identity was withheld by the police — was listed in stable condition, but Cooks was pronounced dead.

Later, police also recovered Jimenez’s body inside the location with multiple stab wounds. The 45-year-old was declared dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

The criminal complaint from the Bronx District Attorney’s office states that investigators used video surveillance and witnesses, including the survivor of the attack, to book Williams as a suspect. Additionally, the 33-year-old “suffered substantial pain to the arm, with the cut being deep and close to the bone, and further suffered annoyance, alarm and fear” after the attack, the complaint says.

The apartment where the stabbings took place — 3145 Rochambeau Ave. — was Williams’ residence, according to the investigation.

Cops also allege during the arrest that Williams drove in a dangerous manner and was in possession of crack cocaine.

Originally booked on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, officials tacked on multiple other charges including: manslaughter, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
