For over 30 years one Bronx-based sanitation company has been doing its fair share to clean up the entire tri-state area.
Based in Hunts Point, Sanitation Salvage Corporation has been servicing many New York communities including the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Westchester county for over three decades by serving the waste management needs of families, commercial businesses and industrial development companies.
The multitude of services Sanitation Salvage Corp. provides includes residential waste services and clean outs, commercial business waste solutions, medical waste disposal, installing and servicing compaction systems, on-site secure document and hard drive destruction, roll-off containers ranging from 10- to 40-yards as well as mini-containers, complete recycling programs, 35- to 100- yard transfer trailers and organic waste solutions.
Fully licensed and insured, this waste management provider prides itself as being the industry standard through providing customized and intelligent waste management solutions for its approximately 10,000 diverse commercial customers and clients.
Family owned and operated by brothers John, Andrew, and Steven Squitieri, Sanitation Salvage Corp. started in May 1985 with only two garage trucks.
Since then, the company has grown to include a fleet of over 20 packer and roll-off waste management vehicless and 25 pieces of state-of-the-art equipment.
Sanitation Salvage Corp.’s vehicles also include shredding trucks which provide on-site secure document and hard drive destruction.
A technological marvel, Sanitation Salvage Corp.’s shredding trucks have cameras installed inside and allow customers to view their sensitive materials’ proper destruction while providing them peace of mind knowing it will not fall into the wrong hands.
In addition, the company operates a state-of-the-art transfer station and recycling facility, allowing the company to offer the most competitive pricing in today’s sanitation marketplace while also being environmentally conscious through its complete composting programs.
According to John Squitieri, Sanitation Salvage was founded after the brothers purchased a small carting company.
Having previously worked alongside his father and his brothers during his teens and at another boutique sanitation firm, it seemed like a dream come true for the Squitieri family to own and operate their own waste removal company.
“We had always worked for somebody else, so when this opportunity came for us to own and operate our own business, we didn’t want to pass that up,” Squitieri shared.
He added this company is very committed to providing quality service for all of its customers and it is highly involved within the community.
Sanitation Salvage Corp. sponsors many community groups here in the Bronx such as the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Van Nest Little League, Aging in America, Morris Park Columbus Day Parade Committee, St. Patrick’s Home, La Union Dominican Men’s Softball League, Carolei Club, Sons of Italy, Bronxchester Little League, and many others.
Raised in Morris Park and currently residing in Indian Village, Squitieri expressed excitement to be working in his family’s company and in his home borough.
“We make our living working in the community and we want everyone to know we are always here to help,” he said.
