Mount Carmel Baptist Church’s officers and parishioners celebrated their house of worship’s 60th anniversary with an elegant Saturday, April 9 banquet held at Maestro’s Caterers. Spotted the event were Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson and Assemblyman Michael Blake who personally commended the Morrisania-based parish’s remarkable Diamond Anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the parish’s pastor Rev. Dr. Anthony Lowe was presented with a commendation formally recognizing its 60 years of serving the community.
