Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. toasted several local Muslim leaders at his annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner on Thursday, May 31 at the Bronx County Building Veterans’ Memorial Hall. This year’s honorees included Shabbir Ahmed Gul, Bronx Community Council founder and chairman; Hebh Jamal, education advocate and activist; Bourema Niambele, Bronx Borough President’s African Advisory Council coordinator and Islamic Relief USA.
