The family of Angelica Beard, who recently passed, has the following message for those offering their sympathies in their time of grief:
The words ‘thank you’ seem so small compared to the love and kindness that you have shown our family in such troubling times.
Thank you to the entire Mt. Vernon, Bronx and overall New York community for everything you did and continue to do.
Whether you brought food, sent flowers, prayed or stopped by to check on us, we are so very grateful.

Bronxite Serves Aboard Advanced Submarine
A borough native is in service aboard a very advanced U.S. Navy submarine. Chief Petty Officer Rikki Sanders, a machinist mate, is serving aboard the staff of Commander, which provides support and oversight to ‘Ohio-class’ ballistic missile submarines. As a machinist mate, Sanders, is responsible for operating and maintaining the submarine’s auxiliary engineering equipment.
I get to work on a wide variety of equipment, which I really enjoy. My divisions of 15 sailors work on equipment all throughout the boat, which is definitely unique.
He is based in Kings Bay, GA.
