Salutes New York
The U.S. Navy’s USS Arlington Command Master Chief Charles Eakley, a borough native, saluted the Freedom Tower as his ship transited to New York for Fleet Week 2018 recently.
The U.S. Navy provided the photo on this page of the moment of Eakley stepped ashore and gave his salute.
Fleet Week New York is now in its 30th year, and has become one of the city’s time-honored celebration of sea services.
It serves as an opportunity for local citizens to meet coast guardsmen, sailors and marines.
