The Allerton Avenue Homeowners and Tenants Association celebrated its 45th annual dinner dance on Feb. 10 at the Marina Del Rey.
This year’s esteemed honorees’ were Rosa Leoncini, assistant principal of P.S. 21 and FIAME President, and Joanna Cartagena, principal of the Pelham Academy. These successful educators were recognized with awards for their impact on the Bronx community.
Elected officials in attendance were City Council Member Kristy Marmorato, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, who awarded the honorees with citations of merit and Assemblymember John Zaccaro Jr., who awarded the Allerton Homeowners Senior Center with a check for $40,000.
Heartwarming speeches were made, and various culinary delights were served. D.J. Don’t Stop The Music had everyone dancing until after midnight.
