Olivet Gospel Church continued its mission to support local families by hosting its monthly community food distribution on Thursday, May 1, outside its building at 3900 Dyre Ave. in the Bronx.

Dozens of residents turned out for the event, many arriving with shopping carts and reusable bags in hand to collect fresh, nutritious food. Volunteers handed out bags filled with fruits, vegetables, meat, bread, canned goods, and other essential items.

Each attendee left with at least two full bags of groceries, helping to ease the burden of rising food costs for many families in the neighborhood.

Olivet Gospel Church will host two additional community food distributions this month, scheduled for Thursday, May 22, and Thursday, May 29, from 4 to 6 p.m.
