Senator Ruben Diaz, Sr. and Assemblymen Michael Blake, Marcos Crespo, and Luis Sepulveda held the fifth annual Abrazo Garifuna in New York on Thursday, April 9. The event, held at Maestro Caterers, celebrates the contributions of the Garifuna community to New York City and New York State. The honorees were Yeny Budari Placios, for arts and culture; Deacon Apolonio Mejia for religion and Arnol Guity-Martinez for youth leadership.
