Councilman Andy King honored 12 leading borough women for their commitment to their community with his Women’s History Month ‘Women of Excellence Award’ on Saturday, March 9. The awards, given in commemoration of Women’s History Month, took place during King’s 12th District State of the District Address. Honorees for the event were Eva Lazaar, Elisa Alvarez, Charity Goh, Leslie Brown, Shirley Saunders, Verna McDavid, Shirley Fearon, Meghan Kelley, Joan Aikens, Maribel Ramos, Marlene Smith and Francine Reva Jones.
