Bronx borough president hosts Women’s Herstory Month celebration

On Wednesday, March 20, Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson partnered with Ponce Bank, NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, SBH Health Systems, Verizon and Fidelis Care, to host her annual Women’s Herstory Month celebration at the Grand Slam Banquet Hall.

Honorees for the evening were the founder of the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media in New York City, Roshone Ault Lee; President of Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College, Daisy Cocco De Filippis, who is the first Dominican woman to serve as a CUNY college president. Also honored were Lizette B. Ritz, the executive director of Green Bronx Machine, and Jacqueline A. Witter, vice president of Nursing Quality and Informatics, St. Barnabas Health Systems (SBH).

Newly named National Stem Champion Treyonna Sullivan received the Youth Award.
