The Manhem Club, one of several private, waterfront beach clubs in Throggs Neck, held a 90th anniversary gala party on Saturday, November 8. As part of the festive celebration, two World War II veterans who both joined Manhem in 1946, Gustan “Gus” Johnson and Carl Johnson, were honored. Members of other nearby clubs took part in the celebration. Among the officials sending proclamations to celebrate the anniversary was Assemblyman Michael Benedetto.
