The Bronx ‘felt the Bern’ last Thursday, March 31 when Democratic Party presidential candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders held his ‘A Future to Believe In’ rally at St. Mary’s Park. Over 18,000 supporters flocked to last week’s historic event to listen to Sanders present a wide array of issues such as getting big money out of politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care. Also in attendance for the evening’s program were featured guest speakers, actress Rosario Dawson and former Calle 13 vocalist, Residente who lent the Democratic Party presidential candidate their full support. Councilman Ritchie Torres and Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda were spotted in the crowd, (Above) Democratic party presidential candidate U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders addresses his vast audience during last Thursday’s rally.
