Monroe College business students Mercedes Rodriguez, Caroline Sanchez and Bryan Guzman presented their sustainable and human-centered start-up ideas at the United Nations on Friday, February 1.

The students participated in non-profit 1M1B’s Future Leaders Activate Impact Summit, an annual event focused on engaging urban youth to take entrepreneurial action aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

They pitched to a room full of ambassadors, dignitaries, scientists, venture capitalists, global educators and others during the event which was live broadcast on UN Web TV to all 192 United Nations member states.

Mercedes Rodriguez was asked to be a part of IMPERIA, a global innovation incubator that joins women from 195 countries in conversation about empowerment, resilience, and leadership.
