In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, over 600 Food Bank for New York City volunteers distributed 1,500 meals and other essentials to feed workers affected by the government shutdown and other New Yorkers in need. Food Bank for New York City’s Warehouse in the south Bronx and Community Kitchen in Harlem served hot meals and distributed food to charities across NYC on Monday, January 21. Volunteers also prepared and repacked food items to be distributed across the five boroughs to families impacted by the government shutdown.
