Councilman Mark Gjonaj joined the New York Institute for Special Education in Pelham Parkway on Monday, October 15 for White Cane Safety Day.
The day is a national observance to raise awareness and celebrate the achievements of blind or visually impaired individuals and the important symbol of blindness and tool of independence, the white cane.
