40 Precinct

Wednesday January 17 at 6:40 a.m. — A cab driver picked up a fare near East 179th Street and Boston Road. The person hailing the cab, a male black between 25-years-old and 35-years-old, asked to be taken to Lincoln Avenue and East 134th Street. When they arrived at the destination, the individual riding in the cab told the driver that someone would be coming to the car to pay the fare. Shortly thereafter, the individual stabbed the driver one time on the right side of his neck with a knife. The cabbie opened his door and fell out of the car, and the individual then took off in the cab. The car was later recovered in Manhattan.

43 Precinct

Monday, January 15 at 4:10 a.m. — A shooting occurred at Stratford and Westchester avenues. A 27-year-old man was approached by an as yet unidentified black man wearing a gray coat and a black mask. The victim was shot multiple times in the right foot, buttocks and face. The shooter fled on Westchester Avenue. EMS took the victim to Jacobi Medical Center where he was in critical but stable condition shortly after the shooting.

45 Precinct

Sunday, January 14 at 12:13 p.m. — Cops responded to a 911 call concerning a residential fire in the Throggs Neck Houses at 2821 Dewey Avenue. When they got to the scene, along with emergency personnel, they found that a fire in apartment #4B had claimed the life of a 62-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl. Both victims were transported to Jacobi Hospital.

Sunday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. — Cops responded to a 911 call and found an unconscious and unresponsive woman inside an apartment at 555 Calhoun Avenue. EMS arrived at the scene and pronounced the woman dead. An investigation will determine the cause of death.

47 Precinct

Monday, December 18 at 5:00 p.m. — Two black men approached a 25-year-old man and demanded that he give them cash or be shot. The victim complied and the individuals then took $176 off of the victim and fled the scene in a Silver Toyota Rav 4 with a New York licence plate. The crime occurred near 1945 Bartow Avenue.
