Lottery Winner Slain Inside Mott Haven Home

Police need your help solving the murder of a lottery winner in Mott Haven. According to police, Owen Dillard, 73, was found dead inside his 352 Beekman Avenue apartment on Monday, June 11 around 8:35 p.m. His fiancée discovered her husband with multiple stab wounds to his neck and immediately called 911. Dillard, who only had a few months left to live, had recently won a $10,000 lottery jackpot just months after winning $50,000 playing the New York Lottery’s ‘Win 4’ game. Video surveillance captured two men in their 20s and 30s at the building’s front door carrying a bag.

The men stayed inside the building for nearly a half hour before exiting with a full bag. No arrests have been made in this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 755-TIPS. All calls are kept strictly confidential.
