The New York Botanical Garden celebrated Puerto Rican Heritage Month on Tuesday, November 28 with several fun-filled activities. This year’s edition included workshops from Cooking with Coqui the Chef on Puerto Rico’s Coqui and how to make a Sofrito Fip; a presentation of bomba, plena and drumming history by Milteri Tucker and Bombazo; necklace crafting with natural beads and Taino symbols by Nanette Velasquez; learning about Puerto Rico’s natural musical instrument el cuatro by Max Resto; an art exhibition by Virginia Guzman and a special live performance by Society of Educational Arts, Inc.
