Abandoned Pitbulls Tied To Tree

Police discovered two pitbulls tied to a tree in Castle Hill last week. According to police, a good Samaritan and a jogger discovered the dogs at Barrett and Torry avenues on Wednesday, January 11 and contacted law enforcement. The good Samaritan and jogger provided food and water for the pitbulls as they waited. As of press time, it is unclear when the dogs were abandoned, however a neighbor claimed to have seen two men walking the dogs earlier that same day. Police said there is no criminality involved in this incident. The Animal Care Centers of NYC stated the dogs have not yet had their medical or behavioral evaluation. They have named the dogs, Mars and Neptune and are currently at Animal Care Centers of NYC’s Manhattan Care Center. Photo by Edwin Soto
