Local Educator Goes T

o Washington

Erin Menard, a teacher at Emolior Academy in West Farms, was selected from a group of more than 300 applicants to attend the Library of Congress’ Teaching with Primary Sources Summer Teaching Institute taking place in Washington D.C. from Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4.

The program is designed to help teachers use primary source documents, like the millions that are archived at the Library of Congress, to enrich lessons related to a variety of subjects.

The educators will learn more about using primary source material in the classroom, and about the million of original documents that are digitized and on the Library’s website and available for study.

Erin is the daughter of Earl Menard of Morris Park.
