The Theodore Korony American Legion Post 253 saluted several honorees at its annual installation of post officers and scholarship awards ceremony on Sunday, June 25 at Throggs Neck Memorial Post 1456’s clubhouse.

The veterans post presented $300 August R. Messerschmitt Memorial scholarships and award plaques to four students.

Post 253 Ladies Auxiliary president Judy Lanci accepted YMCA International Judo Club scholarship on behalf of George Pasiuk.

Post 253 formally recognized former Post 253 commander Michael McNerney, Samuel Young American Legion Post 620 commander Owen Mangan, YMCA International Judo Camp and local residents who honorable fly and properly tend to their American flags.

Joseph Mondello presented award certificates to residents who fly the American flag.
