Councilman Rafael Salamanca recently joined 32BJ workers for a rally urging housing developers and management companies to pay workers fair wages and offer better benefits.
For affordable housing projects which require his approval in the south Bronx, Salamanca is requiring developers to treat workers fairly and to hire locally whenever possible.
