The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation offered Bronxites a taste of Puerto Rico at its annual Coquito Masters competition on Friday, October 14 at the Bronx Music Heritage Center.
Coquito makers competed to be the Bronx’s coquito master, crafting the traditional Puerto Rican coconut-based alcoholic beverage.
Contestants prepared one gallon to enter into a blind taste test in which the entry with the highest score won a chance to compete in this year’s finals.
