Wednesday, August 17, 9:50 p.m. — A dispute inside a gym at 1030 Southern Boulevard escalated into gun violence. A Hispanic man with black hair in braids got into a verbal dispute with two victims, a 24-year-old and a 28-year-old. The fight escalated outside where the suspect pulled a firearm and shot at the victims, hitting the 24-year-old in his foot and the 28-year-old in his shoulder. The suspect fled southbound on Southern Boulevard. The victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, in stable condition.

44 Precinct

Wednesday, August 3, 7:05 a.m. — A robbery occurred inside an apartment building near Walton Avenue and East 167th Street. A 50-year-old man was approached from behind, knocked floor and had a key card taken from his wallet. The suspect is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and dark colored jeans.

Wednesday, August 17, 9:19 a.m. — Cops responded to 1375 College Avenue where they found a 17-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and another victim who was shot in the stomach. One of the victims ultimately died.

43 Precinct

Saturday, August 6, 9:00 p.m. — Cops responded to a call at Watson and Boynton avenues. Officers discovered an 86-year-old man with trauma to his body and head. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, August 12. The driver of a 2005 Dodge Caravan was traveling westbound on Watson Avenue when he struck the pedestrian who was walking southbound on Watson Avenue and was crossing Boynton Avenue.

48 Precinct

Wednesday, August 17, 6:55 p.m. — An off-duty police officer was the victim of a robbery. He was approached in front of 1855 College Avenue. An unidentified man approached the 53-year-old officer from behind and tried to forcibly remove several necklaces he was wearing. One of them was actually removed. During the struggle that ensued, the victim discharged one round from his service weapon. The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s, six feet tall and weighting about 190 pounds. He had back hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
