Vivian Nolan, Jacobi Medical Center director of training and education, recently took a vacation to Alaska. The Bronx was not far from her mind, and as you can see from the picture, she is proudly wearing her Bronx shirt after hiking on a glacier. Sara M. was the photographer on this one.
Bronx Lady Hawks Win
The Bronx Lady Hawks, an all-girls Amateur Athletic Union travelling basketball team, won a basketball tournament in Ocean City, Maryland on Sunday, June 26. The girls took home the championship at the Ocean City Hardwood Classic after playing four games in two days.
According to parent Erica Espinal, they won the last game by a score of 11 to 7. Coaching the team were John Shanley and Jean Shanley.
It was a thrilling ride, stated Espinal. The girls gave it their all. They worked hard and bought the team a tremendous victory. We are all very proud of them.
