Monroe College held a male empowerment event for students on Thursday, April 23. At the event, Dr. Steve Perry, Maurice DuBois, as well as students from Monroe’s Empowerment Institute spoke to high school African American and Latino men about achieving in school and in life. Discussions revolved around character, scholastic achievement, community service and mentoring.
