Got Hair? Medical Aesthetics has been open for business for about a year, but is now really starting to gain a loyal following.
Business partners Dr. Albert Graziosa, medical director for the new practice, and Sharron Camilleri, the new enterprise’s chief operating officer have co-located Got Hair? in Dr. Graziosa’s well-established orthopedic medicine practice at 3611A E. Tremont Avenue.
Camilleri is also Graziosa’s office administrator for his orthopedic practice and a Throggs Neck native.
The new business offers Botox, Fillers, Electrolysis, Scherotherapy, and Laser Hair Removal, all by appointment.
“I was in the recovery room after doing surgery on a patient, and one of the nurses was scheduling an appointment on Park Avenue for hair removal, and the first words out of her mouth when she got off the phone was ‘I wish there was a place in the Bronx where we could have these types of treatment and not have to travel to Manhattan,” said the doctor.
“A light bulb went off and I thought that was something I could possibly do, and not just as someone who knows people and clients and patients in the community, but as a physician who actually knows the process, he said.
Graziosa said that at many other clinics, technicians are doing all of the work and some medical directors are reviewing clients’ charts as infrequently as once a month.
At Got Hair, the doctor can supervise the technicians who do the procedure since Got Hair is co-located with his medical practice.
Business has picked up dramatically in the past few months, and there are a lot of people who are happy with their procedures who are starting to refer friends and neighbors. Camillieri’s roots in the Throggs Neck community have also helped the business gain a following, she said.
The aesthetic services complement the orthopedic practice indirectly in the sense that in many ways treatments like botox or laser hair removal helps the clients who may come to the office for physical aches and pains feel better about themselves on the surface, said the doctor.
“The women that we get seem to be very impressed,” said Camilleri, adding that many of the patients at Got Hair have said “it is nice see that a woman, and a Throggs Neck person, has their own business.” Many even offer to help them gain more business, she said.
The Throggs Neck Merchants Association has been incredibly supportive, and so have neighboring businesses who have been very supportive and have sent patients, said the doctor.
