A multi-generational group of planters consisting of P.S. 32 students, nursing home residents and New York Botanical Garden volunteers grabbed shovels in support of St. Barnabas Hospital’s annual garden planting day on Tuesday, May 16 at the hospital’s Sycamore Grove.
Every year, the community comes together to support the hospital’s volunteer planting staff comprised of administrators, physicians, nurses and others in beautifying the 10-arce oasis nestled in the middle of the south/central Bronx.
P.S. 32 fifth grader Tatiyana Andrades enjoyed the plant’s inviting aroma.
