Prayer Vigil Held For Jaheem Hunter

A prayer vigil was held for a young victim of gun violence. A United Anti-Violence Candlelight Prayer Walk was held on Friday, June 9 at East 167th Street and Washington Avenue in support of five-year-old Jaheem Hunter. Hunter was struck in the head on Monday, June 5 around 5 p.m. at East 167th Street and Washington Avenue by a stray bullet. Police said the gunman got into a dispute with another man before opening fire. The bullets missed the man, but one struck Hunter. Police arrested Michael Quiles, 27, and charged him with attempted murder. Hunter is recovering at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia. Photo by Aracelis Batista
