PR discovery celebrated at James Monroe

On Friday, November 13, the James Monroe Senior Center celebrated the history and discovery of Puerto Rico, which took place on November 19, 1493. The event, which celebrated the 522nd anniversary of the discovery of Puerto Rico, included a floor show as well as Puerto Rican cuisine. The reception hall of the center was decorated with the Puerto Rican flag as well as colorful accessories to honor the colonial territory. The event’s special guest was La Tuna de Mayaguez.
