Permits have been filed for the construction of an 8-story residential building at 1771 Weeks Ave. in Mount Hope.

The proposed development, located between East 175th Street and Cross Bronx Expressway, will contain 59 units if built. The plans call for a 74-foot-tall building that would include 35,989 square feet of residential space. The average unit would be about 609 square feet, indicating that they would most likely be rentals.

In addition to the 59 units, the proposed development would also feature a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The development site is situated close to the 174th-175th Street subway station, which is served by the D train.

The building site is currently vacant, with demolition permits not required. However, an estimated date for the building’s completion has not yet been provided.

The developer is listed as Darwin Torres. The architect of record is John Alleyne of Becall Engineering Services.
