Permits have been filed for the construction of a 6-story residential building with 12 housing units on the empty lot at 200 Mount Hope Pl. in the Tremont neighborhood of the Bronx.
The proposed building would be 59 feet tall and yield 8,668 square feet of space. With an average unit scope of 722 square feet, the units will most likely be rentals.
While there currently are no plans for accessory parking, the proposal does call for a cellar. The Tremont Avenue subway station, which services the B and D trains, is located just blocks away from 200 Mount Hope Pl. There are also bus stops in the area for the Bx1, Bx2, Bx32, Bx36, Bx40, Bx41 and Bx42 lines.
Among the schools within close proximity to the property are P.S. 28 Mount Hope, P.S. 236 Langston Hughes and I.S. 117 Joseph H. Wade. Other notable nearby features include Richman (Echo) Park, Peace Park, Cleopatra Basketball Court, Echo Triangle and the Mount Hope Playground.
The building applications were submitted by Andi Kodra. The listed architect of record is Jakov Saric of Node Architecture, Engineering, Consulting P.C.
Since the lot at 200 Mount Hope Pl. is currently vacant, demolition permits likely will not be needed. An estimated completion date for the new building’s construction has not yet been provided.
