On Tuesday, September 17, UnitedHealthcare, United Way of New York City, Dreambuilders and New York Giants defensive back/safety Michael Thomas held a backpack giveaway for all the students at P.S. 49 The Willis Avenue School. A total of 495 backpacks were distributed.
Sponsored by UnitedHealthcare and coordinated by the Dreambuilders Foundation, the donation is part of United Way of New York City’s ReadNYC initiative to help children in need be ready for the new school year.
