NY Cares Day Spring Cleans The Bronx

New York Cares Day Bronx volunteers from Major League Baseball give the pedestrian path at East 161st Street and Grand Concourse’s roadway barriers a fresh coat of paint.

Saturday, April 16 marked the 22nd annual New York Cares Day Spring Clean New York Cares mobilized 40,000 volunteers to spruce up 300 parks, gardens and roadway barriers throughout the five boroughs. Sixty New York Cares volunteers visited 17 public spaces in the Bronx , including Van Cortlandt Park, where they planted native species of swamp grass along the lake to help combat erosion.
