Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Aniello Giampietro of Country Club are happy to announce the engagement of their children Gina Michele Thorp and Antonio Giampietro on Saturday, June 28. The couple got engaged while vacationing in Aruba and are planning their wedding for 2016. Both families are so excited and wish Antonio and Gina a happy life together.

Jeter’s Leaders

Yankees’ captain Derek Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation graduated is 2014 class of Jeter’s Leaders. The intensive, four-year leadership development program for high school students in New York and Michigan enables them to serve as ambassadors for the baseball great in their communities. Among this year’s graduates were: Gianni Castillo, Pelham Bay, Cardinal Spellman High School; Daniela Ayuso, Throggs Neck, Preston High School; Kanard Lewis, Tremont, the Beacon School; Elmer Chavez, University Heights High School; Cindy Sanchez, KIPP NYC College Prep; Elmer Chavez, University Heights High School; Keila Calix, Fredrick Douglass Academy; and Kristina Valentin, Health Professions and Human Services High School.
