The Girl Scouts of Greater New York’s new Urban Day Camp, launched in Soundview earlier this summer, hosted a clean-up day at Soundview Park on Friday, August 12. Done in collaboration with Partnership for Parks, the event followed the scouts’ previous community work which included building bird houses, creating dog toys for shelter dogs, collecting compost for a week and learning about preserving the Bronx River.

Lala Rae Taylor cleared the park of invasive weeds.
