Thousands of local breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, along with corporate and community members united to ensure no one faces breast cancer alone at the 16th annual American Cancer Society’s ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ three-mile walk on Sunday, October 20 at Orchard Beach. The event raised awareness and funding for the ACS, supporting breast cancer research and free patient service programs such as transportation to treatment, lodging during treatment and a 24/7/365 cancer information hotline. The annual event also featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and a Survivor Village, where cancer survivors enjoyed free activities and giveaways. Photos by Silvio Pacifico
