Letter: MTA chair’s rhetoric is ‘over the top’ in talking about congestion pricing

To the Editor,

MTA Chairman Janno Lieber’s quote in the Daily News that “Ambulances can’t get to hospitals, fire trucks can’t get to fires as a justification for introduction of Congestion Price Tolling south of 60th Street in Manhattan reminded me of Chicken Little’s “The Sky is Falling.” Where is the data in ambulance response time to hospitals and fire trucks to fires for validation of Lieber’s statement?

Over the top rhetoric like this does nothing to build his credibility with commuters, transit advocates, City Hall, Albany and Washington via the Federal Transit Administration for more funding. Try sticking to the facts.
