Senator Jeff Klein honored distinguished community members at his annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration held on Saturday, October 10 at Havana Cafe. The awards luncheon featured special guest, Christine Chavez who continues her grandfather Cesar’s fight for equal rights through her work with the Cesar Chavez Foundation. Klein presented awards to Councilman Ritchie Torres; Claudia Granadoz, New York State director for the Northeast Charter School Network; Democratic District leader Julia Rodriguez and Luiz Diaz, Bronx County clerk in recognition of their service to their communities.
