Senator Jeff Klein and Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj honored several distinguished local Hispanic community leaders at their annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Saturday, October 1 at Havana Cafe.
This year’s extraordinary honorees were Marisol Alcantara, Democratic nominee for the 31st Senatorial District; Aurora Carrion, 43rd Precinct Community Council president; Antonia Figueroa, 85th Assembly Female District leader; Maribel Mercado, Community Board 9 office manager; Candida Rosa, activist and volunteer and Nelly Santiago-Rivera, Shorehaven Homeowners Association board of director and Harbour Pointe Condominium Association president.
