In honor of National Coming Out Day, Senator Jeff Klein presented Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders $150,000 in funding on Tuesday, October 11 at SAGE Bronx Center.
Joined by Councilman Ritchie Torres and SAGE CEO Michael Adams, the senator announced the funding which will be used for extensive outreach to older LGBT Bronxites available at the 260 E. 188th Street center.
SAGE Center provides LGBT older adults access to health care at Union Community Health Center; support groups for caregiving, bereavement, HIV, cancer, depression and anxiety; breaking social isolation and assistance with day to day issues and benefits and entitlements assistance.
